Get ready for Christmas with Natural Earth Woodcraft

November 24, 2016 by RachelSF

Here at Natural Earth Woodcraft, we are busy getting ready for Christmas.  We are co-hosting a Christmas Rural Craft and Food Fair with The Bulls Head at Holymoorside.   You can find us there from 10am to 10pm on Saturday 26th November and from 10am to 6pm on Sunday 27th November.

Rural crafts

So, what do we mean by “rural crafts”?  We are keen that stallholders at our craft fair are, like us, craftspeople who make their own products themselves and who demonstrate what we consider to be the best in local rural crafts.   These crafts involve wood and textiles in particular and either use traditional methods or create traditional products. Many of the people who are stallholders this weekend form part of the Peak and Dukeries Green Woodworkers group.

Here are some of the people you can find at our event this weekend:

Coppice Crow – wooden rustic furniture and handmade wooden gifts
Bryan Eskriett – (as recently seen on BBC Countryfile) will be demonstrating traditional pole lathing
Joanne, a fibresmith, who is a spinner producing beautiful woollen gifts and more from spoon carving to willow weaving.

Fosse Way Fuels –  Quality kiln dried logs, chemical free fire lighters and Swedish logs

Grizzleypaw design – Spoon carver and other carved gifts
Anne Hayes – who makes a range of cottage crafts and recycled material items

Natural Earth Woodcraft – of course, we will be there with our range of crafts and furniture items, along with our Shepherd’s Hut.

Dan Sly – produces fantastic chainsaw carvings and other handcarved gifts

Understory Coppicing -who make lovely handmade serving platters, and chopping boards among other items

Woodscape – wood crafts and lovely smoked garlic, cheeses etc.

1888 jewelry – with a range of silver jewelry items.

The Bulls Head are hosting the event, and you will be able to purchase food and mulled wine from them.

Santa is also visiting from 2-4pm on Saturday.

And if you are visiting us on Saturday, why not also pay a visit to the Village Hall from 1pm onwards, where the 1st Holymoorside Scouts are also holding their Christmas fair.
